Ups and Downs
What a week. The markets are in downfall, but Web3 keeps doing big things.
Unblocked’s Biggest Week Yet
This Sunday is the Billboard x Pepsi x Unblocked live-mint time-limited NFT drop during the Billboard Music Awards.
Inside scoop: Our marketing teams have been on fire with PR, social, Roham teaser on CNBC, and Twitter Spaces with Flow. Even I sent a rare tweet. Story of the Week
Meta’s Instagram announced they will begin NFT integrations.
So what? This represents two major advancements: 1) It takes mainstream adoption to the next level. Once rolled out, immediately billions of people will be exposed and have access to NFTs. 2) It’s a proof point of how blockchains breakdown the walled gardens of web2. Given Twitter already supports NFT profile pics, a user could now bring their NFT between two social networks without either controlling it.
Stat of the week
Number of Instagram users worldwide.
Web3 Topic: Portability
In web3, the concept of portability means you can bring your assets or data between applications. As a counter example, you cannot bring your Facebook friend group into Twitter. But you can bring your cryptocurrencies among DeFi protocols. And soon you’ll be able to bring your NFTs between social networks.
We’re off to tie the last loose ends before this weekend’s launch. Hope to see you out there!
